The Legal Practice Council has confirmed the final timeline (notice of 26 August 2026): the four-paper exam has exactly two sittings left — March and August 2027 — and the new five-paper competency-based assessment starts March 2028. Where you are in the process decides everything.

From March 2028, candidates write five new papers built on the LPC's fifteen compulsory training modules — content spread evenly, a dedicated criminal-practice paper, and new technology and cyber-law material. Lawify's five-paper programme is being built directly from the LPC's published syllabus, not retrofitted from old-format notes.
