The 2027 deadline: exactly where you stand

The rules, from the LPC's own notice (26 August 2026)

  • March 2027: second-to-last four-paper sitting.
  • August 2027: the final four-paper sitting. No extensions.
  • Your accumulated credits survive until the August 2027 results are released. Any paper still outstanding at that point means all credits are forfeited and you restart on the five-paper exam in March 2028.
  • The special November/December 2026 sitting announced earlier was cancelled — the two 2027 sittings replace it.
  • Registering for PVT for the first time in 2027? You are still permitted to register for the four-paper exam.

What that means in plain language

You have at most two attempts at each outstanding paper. If you write in March and something goes wrong, August is your only safety net — and August has none.

Your risk profile

  • One paper outstanding: strong position — but treat March as the real deadline and August as insurance.
  • Two papers: write both in March if remotely feasible.
  • Three or four papers: passing everything in two sittings is possible and people do it — but only with a structured plan, started now. That is what this programme is for.
